Tyler Donovan

  • Tyler Donovan brings experience as an All-American collegiate athlete and semi-professional volleyball player, including competition in the Volleyball League of America, into his work as a trainer and coach. His background as both an athlete and a leader in the sport allows him to connect with players and understand the demands of high-level volleyball.

    Tyler currently serves as an assistant coach for both the women's and men's volleyball programs at North Central College and is a Graduate Assistant for Campus Recreation. Through these roles, he has worked with athletes across different ages and ability levels, focusing on skill development, confidence and decision-making.

    Above all, Tyler is passionate about helping athletes grow not only as volleyball players, but as confident, resilient people.

  • I believe the most effective training environment is one that is athlete-centered and relationship-driven. Every athlete has different goals and learning styles. My job as a trainer is to meet each athlete where they are and challenge them to grow from there.

    I place a strong emphasis on communication and feedback. When athletes feel supported and understood, they are more willing to push themselves outside of their comfort zone, make mistakes and learn from them. My goal is to help athletes build confidence in their skills, improve their decision-making and take ownership of their development on and off the court.
